Song - Traditional
Kaj Tiel Plu - Barcelona (Catalonia)
Kaj Tiel Plu, from Esperanto "and so on", was born as a duet formed by Pep Tordera and Xavier Rodon in 1986 in Casteło (Veneto, Italy), bringing the Catalan music tradition into the Esperantist environment.
Immediately Josep Maria Milla and Carles Vela were incorporated. Then the band held several concerts in Italy, Hungary, the Netherlands, France, Occitania, the Basque Country..., and a feminine voice was incorporated for the first time: Núria Oller.
In 1989 the group published "Fajreroj. Unua kataluna kantareto", the first Catalan song book translated into Esperanto.
In 1992, coinciding with Peps emigration to the United States, the activity of the group became more sporadic.
Kaj Tiel Plu revived in the year 1998 during the Universal Congress of Esperanto in the Occitanian town of Montpeller. Núria, pushed by family duties, was substituted by Luz Vázquez, and new members were incorporated to the band: Ferriòl Macip, Javier Muñoz, Antonio Alberca, Pau de Nut and, later, Elena Milla and Carles Badia. The current formation started forming (guitar, flutes, mandoline, violin, cello, double bass, percussion and voices) broadening the repertoire towards Occitanian tradition from the time of the Troubadours up to the present and towards the Sephardic tradition.
Now the group is made up of Àngel Ribas (accordion), Anna Sánchez (percussion), Carles Vela (flutes and voice), Elena Milla (percussion and voice), Ferriòl Macip (violin and voice), Isaac Barrera (double bass), Josep Maria Milla (mandoline and voice), Pau de Nut (cello) and Xavier Rodon (guitar and voice), and it offers concerts and dances of world-wide music. So far it has released three albums on the Vinilkosmo label: Sojle de la klara temp' (2001), Plaĉas al mi (2004) and Surplacen venu vi (2009).
